Printing

Students receive a set printing allowance from the College.  If funds run out, students can check with a library staff member at the service desk to print a few individual copies until they have time to add money to their account at the Business Office.

Locations of Printers in the Library.

  • 3rd floor (in CTE, near the Children's Literature room)
  • Main (2nd) floor: (In the alcove with the computers, and South end of Student Success Center (SSC) near student worker's desks)
  • 1 East landing by 1 West stairs
  • North end of Hazel Wing hall - outside Hazel 101.  This is the only color printer in the building and will print and scan in color.

How will I print on the new "Follow Me"  system?

  1. Open a file or document then select Print. Choose "Follow Me" as the printer.
  2. If "Follow Me" is not on your profile, you will need to map it. Follow these steps.
  3. When you send a print job to a printer or copier, it will not immediately print.
  4. Instead print requests go into a que until you scan your WC ID at the desired printer.
  5. Students will need to swipe their Westminster College ID Card, with the magnetic side up, to initiate a print.  Faculty and staff should have a print code to enter.
  6. Once you have entered your information a list of your print jobs will display.
  7. You can choose to print all or any of your stored jobs or you can cancel any job you decide you do not need.
  8. Note: The print que is cleared at the end of each day.
Can I print from my Laptop or Phone?
  1. Go to MYWC to the Papercut portal to open web print: https://print.westminster-mo.edu/app?service=page/UserWebPrint

  4. Then select print.

How do I print in the MAC Lab?
  1. Follow the steps above for webprint.

Why choose “Follow me” printing? I want it to print immediately!

Follow me is a cloud-based service that protects the privacy of our users so only the person who is printing can view the document. It also helps protect personal information according to best practices for government standards and regulations.  (i.e. information such as social security, driver’s license, medical, and/or legal information.)

Follow me printing also reduces waste and costs for individuals and for the College while supporting confidentiality and accessibility.

Copying & Scanning

There is a color printer/scanner located on the first floor of the Hazel Wing outside Hazel 101 that can scan to your One Drive. You will have to authorize it the first time that you scan. Scanning is free. You can also copy using your print budget. Select the middle icon labeled “Device Functions” after logging in with your ID.

Green Tips

  • Use the "print preview" feature to see how a document will print. Only print when you are satisfied with the preview.
  • Watch those PowerPoints! Instead of printing the default one slide per page try printing as "handouts" or select two slides per page to save paper. Word documents can print as many as 4 pages to one sheet of paper and still be able to read the information. Also check to see if you are printing on just one side of the paper or duplexing front and back.
  • If the printer has run out of paper or toner, contact a Library staff member at the service desk on the main floor.
