Your professor should tell you which style they want you to use. If they have no preference, you may follow these Citation Guides (UNC-Greensboro)

ACM: Articles, books, websites
ACS: Articles, books, websites, data, theses and dissertations
AP: Newspapers, magazines, etc.
APA: Psychology, education, and other social sciences.
ASA: American Sociological Association
MLA: Literature, arts, and humanities.
AMA: Medicine, health, and biological sciences.
Turabian: Designed to be used for college students for most any subject.
Chicago: Used in the professional publishing world for books, magazines, etc.
